ASSAM-TCS IT PACT

Guwahati| Assam State Electronics Development Corporation Limited ( also called AMTRON), the state’s nodal agency for development and implementation of Information Technology initiatives, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Tata Consultancy Services Limited( TCS ) to leverage the technology advantages in rolling out various IT initiates in the State of Assam in coming days.

TCS being the largest IT solution provider will support AMTRON in terms of providing solutions and services to undertake short-term and long-term IT projects both in solution support and process outsourcing.

With this understanding the AMTRON can make use of the infrastructures created by TCS within the state of Assam, and also outside for providing IT enabled services to various government departments, agencies in the field of citizen centric services, recruitment assessments, automation of education sector and computerization  of public utility services in the state.

AMTRON, being the nodal agency of the government, will deliver the services through state of the art technology, where in TCS shall support AMTRON in providing solutions and technology and infrastructure, officials said.

The arrangement it is expected to accelerate the implementation process and to bring in collaborative approach for mutual benefit.

With the strongest human capital base of TCS and its presence in NE region, it is seen that the conglomerate shall support the State Government to excel in overall development of the state and reach out to the people of Assam, officials said.

The MOU was signed by MD of AMTRON MK Yadav and V. Ramaswamy, VP & Global Head of TCS-iON on Friday. Assam’s IT Minister Keshav Mahanta was also present on the occasion.
