The vision of the mission is to convert Tripura  into a vibrant, knowledgeable and skillful region by fulfilling the growing need for skilled manpower across the sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of  skilled manpower.

After the announcement of Skill India Mission, the State government had set up a separate directorate to give more focus and coordination to skill development initiatives.
