Delhi Metro raises the bar with renewed focus on cleanliness
Delhi Metro launched a Swachh Metro campaign on the second anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The campaign lasted six days beginning October 2.
The objective was to reinforce the message of cleanliness among the public and work to better the environment at all metro stations, its installations and their surroundings. All Metro staff on duty took the “Swachh Pledge” at their respective stations and depots.
The launch campaign was followed by street plays at 15 major stations including Mandi House, Rajiv Chowk, Karol Bagh and Noida City Centre. Twelve other plays will be held for the public at 12 stations.
Delhil Metro is also organizing an ‘Online Slogan Writing Competition’ on the topic ‘Swachh Metro’ for all smart card users. Around 150 volunteers will join Metro staff in spreading the swachh message.
